Welcome to Helping It HappenScottish Land & Estates ‘Helping it Happen’ - a campaign to highlight how landowners and rural businesses across Scotland play a key role in enabling and supporting success in rural areas.
There are already many instances of this taking place but so much more can be done that will result in wider benefit to communities, businesses and individual people. We want to make it clear that landowners and land based businesses want to be part of the solution and play an even greater part in a successful Scotland. Opportunities for collaboration and partnership exist in many areas and will help us all achieve things together.
Helping it Happen summarises exactly how estates businesses are involved in projects large and small across Scotland, and will hopefully encourage more activity of this kind.
Nominations Open for New 'Helping It Happen' Rural Awards
Scottish Land & Estates has today launched the inaugural 'Helping it Happen' awards, which will recognise landowners and rural businesses that play a key role in enabling and supporting success in rural areas.
The new awards were launched at The Scrib Tree Cafe in Douglas, South Lanarkshire By Scottish Land & Estates Chairman David Johnstone – a business that has benefited from the help of their local estate.
For the new awards – which are to be sponsored by The MacRobert Trust – people are being asked to share how their local estate, farm or rural business has made a positive contribution to their local area via the Helping it Happen website – www.helpingithappen.co.uk. Those nominating can tell how their area has benefitted from the involvement of land-based businesses, and also view case studies from other regions across Scotland.
